I realize that elegance and hunting pistols are words rarely associated, but I just recently realized there exists the eabco BF pistols, and In my eyes the design seems much smoother and more flowing than that of my contender. Are there any others that are slim trim and sexy?

Lols. Personally I like a woman with a little meat on her.

But I like my guns sexy.

The FA is a more elegant to me in terms of break-opens.

MOA Maximum?

The FA single shot pistol just looks ugly to me. I think Contenders have smoother lines.

IDK, the Contender with the schnabel forend, like in that pic, is still pretty sexy to me.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

Crap. CMnash's tender is nice looking...

I don't care for the looks of the FA, and the big lever on the MOA.. looks like a nice grip set would do wonders for my contender.

Maybe I should just get a g2 frame and have it tuned and pretties up a little as well as a custom grip set. Hmm.

But I can't seem to get the idea of a BF and 97d in 357 max out of my head

She may not be slim and trim, but she's sexy...

If the XP's are too bulky for your taste, the MOA's are a slick design...and you don't have to go with the enlarged loop.

I guess I just like the FA over the Contender-Stronger and such, free-floated forend.
I choose the MOA over the FA though. Better trigger, stronger action, and know great accuracy even with larger cartridges.
I guess the beauty to me is more of a matter of function over looks.

I still like the original Contender as far as elegance goes. Yes, there are stronger actions but for all-around ease of shooting my vote goes with the Contender - the FA might be on par but I don't have one of those.

I just picked up this MOA today and it is an interesting gun. It's a bit more involved to shoot it than a Contender but it is interesting. This one has the other lever mentioned above.

It's in 45 LC.

Looks just like my 30 Herrett version Gary. Very nice handling little gun. Takes a little getting used to with the action manipulation I've found but cool little gun and seems to be very accurate.

The FA is super nice! Shot one a good but again earlier this month and 600 yard hits very extremely boring with that set up. It was set up as a standard hunting gun. Nothing fancy. But for price and ease, the old contender is mighty nice. I've had great luck with them since I started messing with them about 3 years ago.

BUT....SCHunters 6.5-284.....that thing is just AMAZING!!!!! It is a work of art from Apache machine. That thing has eyes and like the others he has from Apache, shoots lights out!!

The contender is "untouchable" for looks, function, and versatility. The G2 contender is the greatest firearm in the world bar none. 😬
Very adaptable to your situation with barrel length or custom design(heavy or light). Factory wood and composites, or laminates and custom woods.
Quick and easy to load/unload and capable of very nice hunt quality triggers.....and downright pretty, especially with custom add ons.

Absolutely untouchable. 😎

What should I get for a LR barrel for that MOA?

The sky is pretty much the limit. What do you consider long range? What game are you wanting to take at that distance?

I would say up to elk but most of it would be deer sized game, aoudad... Maybe out to 350 yards or so. And I would rather it not leave a Whitworth gash in my head.

Here are a few options.

http://www.moaguns.com/ballistics.html

I personally have a 6.5-284 Win, .308 Win, and .338-06 A-Square barrel. So, I'm good up to elk size game. So far, I've only taken pronghorn antelope with my MOA using the .308 Win barrel out to 350 yards. For deer sized game, the 6.5 and .308 Win will get me to 500 yards easily.

You can go with a standard or mor exotic cartridge choice. Just depends on what suits your fancy.

I have a few photos I will share once Tony gets done with the new wood on my old / updated Encore.
Then I may have a new XP ready to show by the end of summer

BTW
No RPM photos yet.

If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

I guess my vote is for the Contender, but that's probably because that's the one I have.

Lot of options for elk out to 350.
What caliber you thinking about?

I have owned all hunting handguns except the latest FA Single Shot. My preference over any of them is the XP 100. I own two in 7 BR. They will both morph into harder hitting cartridges soon, likely a 7-08 and a 308.
