Hello guys my daughter wants to get her fiancé a hog hunt for Christmas . We live in Va. What are some of you favorite places? Of course dad will have to go with him to make sure he doesn't get hurt !

Wilderness Hunting Lodge in Monterey TN. Plenty of land to actualy hunt even though it is behind a fence. Alan owns 16,000 acres. The lodges (3 of them) are nice and the employees are top notch. Headed there again in November if nothing happens-again. reflex264

There are a number of outfitters in North Carolina that are much closer to VA. Hog Heaven in Johnston County is one of them. There is one in Northern Virginia that I am in the process of trying to contact.

One huge advantage to Wilderness is you can hunt them however you want to. Spot and stalk, elevated blind or dogs. Its your choice. We spot and stalk. Nothing like hiking the mountains with a handgun in a good piece of leather.

My favorite hog kill

Not doubting it's a great place, reflex, just that TN is a long haul from Virginia. I can be in North Carolina and in a stand in four hours. And that does look like a great place!

Thanks Whit, I was wondering about N.C. . There is a place out near Culpeper called Rose Hill is that one you were thinking of in Va. I work with the father in-law of the guy who runs that place ,they hunt them at night .

Thanks again !
