Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

The gun barrel would have to be tilted more than that. Even my 223 or 308 or 44 mag would be tilted at a 25-35% angle for that shot.

Maybe It is an optical illusion, but I agree that it would have to be tilted higher. I have hit a buffalo target at 1000 yds with iron sights with my .500 Linebaugh Long 2 out of 5 tries. With the reflex sight he is using it would have to be shimmed quite a bit at the rear.
I used a sight picture on my gun that allowed me to just barely see my barrel in the rear sight notch and placed the front sight on the target.
BTW the gun I used is the one in my avatar.

ok maybe im gullible but im buying it. J.M. has too much to lose by putting B.S. on vidio. so dose smith and wesson. if it was some unknown like myself i might have more of a raised eyebrow. ill also bet that he's tried that shot a 1000 time before the camera was anywhere near the range.
Everything before "but" is B.S.

Jerry is the most decorated double action revolver shooter in the game. He doesn't need, nor would want, false publicity. Here shoots a snubby 200 yards with his pinky while holding the gun upside down. Some just have IT http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIwVK_FxGZk
Rod, too.

Less than 45degrees, artillery max would be abou 42 degrees for max range.

The gun barrel would have to be tilted more than that. Even my 223 or 308 or 44 mag would be tilted at a 25-35% angle for that shot. Not so sure about that. I ran the load he is using and for a 1,000 yard zero he should be 946" high @ 550 yards, which is also 74" high @ 25 yards. If you plug those numbers into an angle calculator, 74" rise @ 900" of run, it comes out to just 4.7 degrees. The muzzle angle would have to be a little steeper than than to make that 74" mark @ 25 yards but not all that much.
Rod, too.

A 9mm at 1000 yards? And here I am attempting to get confident at 100.

s4s4u is correct. It is simple math. Jerry stated the bullet had a drop of between 150-175 feet at 1000 yards. That equals only a few degrees 1000 yards away.

I ran it on my ballistic program and assuming a 100 yd zero I get a drop of 295 ft and an angle of a bit over 5 degrees.
