We have been playing with the ACP cylinder on LABRAT's Hunter. Duplicating .44 Magnum power with less than half the recoil and a thud/boom that isn't even close to as noisey. Seating the 265gr Beartooth out to the crimp groove on a super case. More to come....

Reflex,
Looking forward. I have been playing with loads for my S&W 625PC. I do not have the strength of your Hunter model, but have been pushing things a little with Supers and Auto Rim. I recently switched from a fast powder to a much slower one, and the felt recoil is significantly lesser with the HS6 and Longshot.
I am not sure how you are keeping your bullets in the cases with a roll crimp in your Hunter. I've at least got Clips, and a rim on the AR.

It's not the gun, but the man behind it.

I look forward to the results of your test.
I have been playing with a 460 Rowland barrel I installed on my 1911 about a year ago. Initial tests with 230 grain lead bullets gave a speed of 1335 fps. from the 5" barrel. Compare this to 1380 fps. for a 240 grain lead bullet from my 7.5" Blackhawk. 185 grain JHP's clocked in at 1525 fps. The Rowland has half the recoil of the Ruger Blackhawk. I recently acquired some 230 grain XTP's I will be trying as soon as weather permits.

Yes should be fun, when I had the convertible Blackhawk .45 I shot some warm .45 Super from it too, I think I was shooting 250/255gr over a stiff charge of 800x and recoil wasn't bad. I didn't chrono it from the BH but I was getting ~1275-1300 fps with it from the 5" KKM Glock 21. Brass wasn't sticky ejecting from the Blackhawk either.

Well, reflex64, you coming or what???? What's the results and with what?
I've used that same bullet for several years now with VV N350 powder and she flies straight and level with lots of authority in my 1911 - always looking for something better.
