I've used the "V" rear and wasn't very please with the concept, I prefer the square notch rear and bead front.
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

I had the same experience as KRal. I put a set on my Redhawk and accuracy suffered.
I found it much more difficult to get the front sight aligned as there is no solid reference point.

I have a V rear and Freedom Arms front sight base with gold dot on a Ruger Redhawk Jack Huntington worked over for me. I don't like it. I need to figure out what height front sight I need so I can change it out.

I still like square notch rear and square front.

You might try the peep rear with the bead front. I have the peeps on two .45 colts and like them pretty well. Got mine thru Dick Thompson [Six Shot }on a different site. The peep works good for older eyes ,but you can't beat a square notch rear and square top front for shooting longer ranges where you have to hold up some front sight, or for pure precision.

The v will work for hunting accuracy. In the middle of the v I have a white line and a bead up front. All you have to do is make it look like a lollipop and squeeze the trigger. I found it worked better for getting shots off quicker than a square notch, but bearing down trying to get every ounce of accuracy out of one, you'd be better served by a square notch.
