Is the .480 Ruger in between the .44 Magnum and .454 Casull in regards to "power"? A little more than 1 and a little less that the other??

You could say that, but I would rate it much closer to the 454 than the 44 when it comes to "power".
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

Going by the numbers, it seems to fit nicely between the two. Where exactly it stands next to the others depends on the loads you're comparing.

I would agree with Rod, the 480R is awful close to the 454 when you start to look at top end loads.

The .454 can be loaded to much higher pressures than the .480 (65k vs 48k). On paper the .454 will look more impressive because of this factor. I personally feel that muzzle energy figures are a poor way to measure lethality. Ruger's big mistake at the outset was to release the .480 with such lukewarm loads. Loaded properly, the.480 is a pretty big hammer in its own right. I wouldn't sandwich it it between the .44 and .454.

I would say 'tween the .454 and the .475 L.
