Picked it up yesterday from my LGS.

.243 Winchester

I was originally going to mount a Vortex 2-7x Scout Scope that I have on order on top of this gun..................but.............I'm kinda liking the Leupold MkIV 4.5-14x50 on her.

So now I have to figure out what I'm going to put the Vortex on. Dammit! I need another gun!!!

Will be loading up some 85gr Sierra HPBT GameKings for a hunting load. Being as it has a 1-10" twist. But, I'll launch my 105gr A-Max loads through it as well. Just to test it's accuracy and see if they miraculously might stabilize.

The trigger is nice at 2.5 pounds. The gun, even without the scope is quite heavy for what you would expect. Should help with recoil.

The grip sucks quite a bit and I will be modifying that soon. The safety.............yeah. Modified.

Other than that, for about the price of a TC barrel........you can get a complete gun. Not bad. Range Report to come.

Cool. Can't wait to see what kind of velocities you get with it. What length barrel does it have?

I still have one of those on my list. Once we thin some timber, I'm going to need a gun with a little more range.

4 actually. But, the other two are rifles. Some here wouldn't approve.

:-)

Lot of guys here have rifles too.
Looking forward to a range report.
These have intrigued me since I first saw them.

Congratulations on all the new artillery! I have the Scout in 300blk, and love it. You mentioned modifying the grip? That's my only real complaint with my scout. I'd love to hear/see what you have in mind for the mod.

I put one of those slip on rubber grip covers on mine. Made a big difference in hand comfort.

Well, I personally wouldn't be opposed to seeing a long gun report over on the Off Topic board.

Well, I blame you and Ernie for me picking mine up. Just some payback

How does the CVA shoot compared to your TC Encore?

Do those of you that have the Scout Pistol still find it a nice gun for the money?

I want a .357 and I want to give a specialty pistol a try. For my purposes I think this gun would be perfect.

Thanks much ...

I really enjoy mine. It shoots exceptionally well for the price.

ZEE are we getting close on a Range Report?

The Scouts look pretty good. The 243 should rock for a combination Deer and Varmint rig. A 357 rechambered to 357 Maximum would be a real hit. The 44 Magnum would be another chambering hard to beat for Deer & Hogs. The 300 Blackout I would like a hair better with a 14 inch tube instead of the 11.5. I guess they figured shorter with a Can would work out better. If I had one with a Can, I might agree that the 11.5 is a better choice.
Bottom Line, the Scout & Optima 50 cannot be beat for the price point.

I probably have more rifles than some small armies. Yes I like them too.
