Various custom builders.

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

Nice one LABRAT! I'm guessing it was converted from 357 mag? I dig that case hardened frame too.

Just caught up on the other posts. Raptortrapper I'm drooling over all of yours. I'm waiting to receive my Contender today. Where did you get the laminate fore end?

Kral a superb collection of FAs and blades and I've never seen a nicer looking muzzle loader barrel!

Keep em coming folks! I hope to add my contender pic soon.

Thanks, Jeff. I acquired that muzzleloader barrel from GS. It shoots as good as it looks!

yes sir. it started out as a 1963 .357 blackhawk. if you didnt know that the gun was a custom and not factory peice, you would think it was a factory built gun. it is my favorite mountain gun to pack.

Neat! That's the only way to get an old model 44 special blackawk. Took Ruger 55 years to decide to make one with their new model blackhawks. A lot of 3 screw 357s died and were resurrected during that half century.

Many of us are single action nuts and that in and of itself sidelines Smith & Wesson.

That said, I have Smith & Wessons I am very fond of and will never sell.

Whit, did you do this one yourself or did some pistolsmith do it for you? I've seen on several forums done both methods.

Rod worked on 4 of my Rugers a while ago and remade my square back super blackhawk into this masterpiece.

I plan on using it this whitetail deer season! 240 grain Swift A frames.

My .32 mag. Grips by Josh Jolley, 5.5" barrel Made and fitted by Alan Harton, SBH hammer spur by Alan as well.

.44 Special by Alan Harton. Originally a 3 screw OM BlackHawk .357 converted to .44 special, 5.5" Octogan barrel, custom base pin, #5 grip frame, walnut grips, bisley hammer installed. Case hardened by a guy local to Alan. This pic is a few years old now. A bit of wear on the barrel and cylinder now, just makes it look better in my opinion. I have taken it to Wyoming once and Arizona twice to hunt. Have taken deer with it and used it to dispatch a few animals on a trapline.
