There is just something about the romance of the "Old Timers"
1858 Remington Cap&Ball. Nothing points like 'em! Many deer have fallen to her medicine.

Mister, why do you carry a 45? "Because Sam Colt don't make a 46."

Nice piece! I'd love to see/hear more details on the rig you have paired with it. I've been thing about something along those lines for my ROA.

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

Here's the Bisley collection. Left to right, 357 Mag, 357 Max, 41 Mag, 44 Special, 44 Mag, 45 Colt, 480.

And here's the purtiest one of the bunch. A 357 Maximum, Bisley grip frame, free spin pawl and birdseye grips.

Thanks Doc. I'll be keeping an eye out for a buy on a 22 and 32. I don't feel the need for a 454, already having the 45 and 480.

Still need a 22, 32 and a 414. Probably should add a 500L for good measure.

And if you have a .500 Linebaugh, you will also need a .500 Maximum.....

Do you see how this works?

I was perfectly happy with a 45 Colt being my biggest handgun until you had to tempt me with that 480 brass. That was so much fun now I'm thinking bigger and I'm gonna blame you when my wife questions me about it.

I've been poring over 500 Max stuff recently and telling myself, "Marty you're crazy, Marty you're crazy." Then I answer back, "Yeah, that's probably true but you still want a 500 Max, crazy or not."

I finally got around to putting some scopes on to try out. I need to get a mount for the 500 and then I will take the Leupold off the 629, maybe. Ruger 17 HMR and 41 mag and S&W 629 and 500. These should cover all my hunting needs.

She is beautiful!

I'm thinking about having the Precision Center make me one in 454 with a 45 ACP spare cylinder.

HERE ARE TWO 5 INCH N FRAME REVOLVERS, A GREAT BARREL LENGTH FOR GENERAL FIELD USE/CARRY. THE TOP 1 IS A MODEL OF 1989 IN 45 COLT (A RECENT ADDITION) THAT I WILL USE WITH MY OLD WEST LOADS (A 250 gr OTBC CAST FPRN @ AROUND 900 fps), AND THE BOTTOM 1 IS A 5 INCH MODEL 27 357 MAG THAT I HAVE OWNED AND USED FOR YEARS (I USE OTBC 158 gr CAST BULLETS IN IT). BOTH GUNS ARE WEARING STABILIZED ELK STAG GRIPS BY KEN DRISKILL. CLASSIC REVOLVERS.

"ADAPT OR DIE". I USE ALL CAPS, NOT BECAUSE I AM YELLING, BUT BECAUSE IT IS AN OLD HABIT FROM MY ARMY DAYS, PLUS IT IS EASIER TO TYPE AND READ.

Very nice Rey,

I have those same two 5 inchers myself. The 25-7 is a fantastic gun. I shoot similar loads in mine too. Your grips look great.
