I have an Encore with a 243win 15" barrel. Its fun and super accurate. Have a Bushnell Elite 2-6 on it and really enjoy shooting it.
I am considering getting a 358win barrel for it. Would probably stay with the 15" as that is what I am used to and it seems to balance and handle well.
Anybody have any experience with an Encore in 358?
Do I need one? Of course not. Do I want one? Duh.

Dont have one but think it would be an awesome round! .....the 35rem is a real powerhouse on the contender....so......
I think id consider a muzzle brake on it.

Shot my un braked Encore in 30.06 150 gr.last week and my thumb from wrist to tip is starting to turn a pleasant shade of yellow and green now.Already have rubber grips on it, it will get a brake before I shoot it again.

Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

I have a rifle and pistol barrel for my Encores. Absolutely love the cartridge in that platform.

I had an old .358 Win with a 16.5" barrel -close to what you mentioned- -if you go this route-- H335 was the fastest for me----also lots of muzzle flash-- soft recoil H322 no MF more recoil and good mv-- and is an extreme powder the recoil is from my shoulder--;) all around best bullet was the sierra 225...or the flex tips -- 200 gr Interloc needs good impact speed to work well cases are very ease to make which is good as factory stuff is hard to find

I had several 356 Win you can go this route and get the rimed brass. You also can get a 308 extractor and shoot 358 brass from the same tube.
I shot 180 Speer Hot Cores out of mine with laser like precision.
Gun would put 5 bullets in 1/2 at 100
Had Rifle in the same with a 24" barrel
JMO go with the 356 over the 358

If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.
