What do you guys think is the live weight on this boar??? Above is a photo of a boar along with a S&W 657 with a 7 1/2" barrel which gives a reference for length... I never guess the correct weight of a boar and wish I had a pic of him standing... Anyway, I know what the live weight is and was thinking if this could be of any help to our handgun hunters in the future especially when trying to determine a boars weight in the field.... Give me your best guess on what you think this boar weighs....

OK...I'll bite first.
First of all - great boar! Congrats big time!
Second - I wish there were something else for a frame of reference in the shot. He looks to be about 4 1/2 - 5 feet in length from base of the tail to nose tip.
My guess 350-375 lbs on the hoof.

Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

I'm going with 150-175. I've been disappointed by the scale on many occasions.
I'm reassessing. Looking at the photo again, I say he's closer to 250. He's not only long but portly. They can be very deceptive. I'm however probably wrong - LOL!

I'm going to say 275-280 lbs. But I haven't taken as many hogs as many of you guys.

205-215 I am with you 45man. In Florida I have seen a lot photos of "300" pound hogs that prob barely reached the 200 mark. "We didn't have a scale with us" is the common statement.
Either way that's a good looking pig.

Live weight it's up there 275 plus lbs from my guess. Having handled very few it's a guess . I loaded a couple recently in a side by side and I'm amazed how heavy they can be. Had to drag one 20 yards to get it in the side by side . 2 hands down hill and I was surprised in the weight.
Nice piggy James....

Wish I had a better photo showing how long he was because he came in at an even 290lbs. on the scale before he was dressed...

Rey, I did...twice...that`s why I wish I had a better picture showing the length of this boar because he was a good size...Tioga Ranch recently built a new addition just to butcher and prepare their animals and the equipment is new....

Should have posted this photo along with the first for a more accurate size of the boar....

I've always used the size of the gun in comparison to the size of the animal in pictures....

Hard to tell laying down. That 500lbs monster I killed looks like a 300lbs hog in the pics but when it was standing up it looked like godzilla. My guess is 200-225.

Proved my point though. Hogs laying down are hard to judge. That was an awesome hog by the way.
