Over on SA snyd asked to see pics of well used leather and I pulled this retired bandito from a storage box cause I bought a replacement... Never thought much about it until asked to show old leather and realized this rig has traveled many miles... After a hunt I would use my knife to scratch in the place I hunted.. Anyway I thought it might be intersting for you guys to see.....

It's not the gun, but the man behind it.

That was a neat ideal to help remember all your hunts with it.

I bet that brought back some memories, James. Too cool!
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

Very cool. I bet that holster could tell some great stories.

James that is just way too cool! Bring it out of retirement, and have some hide stretcher add a skirt to it so you can add more places. Haa

If that holster could talk, then again you might not want it too.

Great Idea! I used to keep a journal of my small game hunts I had with my first dog. When he passed me and my hunting buddies read thru it... pretty cool indeed!!

ONE OF MY REGRETS IN LIFE IS THAT I DID NOT KEEP A CONTEMPORANEOUS JOURNAL OF MY HUNTS. THEY SAY THAT A SHORT PENCIL IS BETTER THAN A LONG MEMORY, NOW I KNOW WHY.
"ADAPT OR DIE". I USE ALL CAPS, NOT BECAUSE I AM YELLING, BUT BECAUSE IT IS AN OLD HABIT FROM MY ARMY DAYS, PLUS IT IS EASIER TO TYPE AND READ.

Rey, Even if you wrote down the basic`s of each hunt (game-gun-load-country-etc.) it would have helped remember the entire day...The closest I have to notes are the recovered bullets I have, each with a note of animal taken and before/after bullet weights..... well... maybe in our next life....
