Everybody is talking about, but no one seems to be actually doing it. (That could apply to a lot of things I guess). Is anyone hunting with this caliber regularly? I picked up a Sig 220 10mm and am debating on whether to keep it. I always seem to gravitate towards my 44s. Anyone?

I helped a friend set up a Glock 40 to hunt deer with this year, but he didn't get any shots so there's no field report. Pick the right bullet/load and it should work well. His gun liked the Buffalo Barnes 155gn Barnes bullet at 1550fps with a 6.5" barrel.

I have a Glock 10 long slide with a vortex red dot on it and love it. Killed a few deer and a hog with it so far. Great caliber. Great gun. All quick kills. Using Underwood 200 grain JHP.
The meat won't fry if the lead don't fly.

I bought the Remington long slide hunter, I shoot it with open sights, awesome accuracy out to 100 yards, using the Hornady 200 grain XTP, and the Nosler bullet , both with 200 grain bullets and 9 grains of Blue Dot.

I carry an EAA Witness as a sidearm when hunting. Have not been presented a chance to use it on a deer yet

I have killed a small deer with my G40 with HPR 180gr XTPs. I think they are around 1200fps (no chrono, yet) Have to pick your shots, the one I killed was 40 yards and angling hard away. Good penetration with the bullets stopping under the far shoulder.

Think I will just force myself to try it. I always grab the 44 because it's tried and true, but I think I will give the Sig a chance this season. Should be a cull Sika buck in it's near future.

I hunt with the 45 Super which pretty much runs even with the 10mm. The 10mm has a great track record. If you are unaware of Razor Dobbs and his 10mm hunting videos you should look him up on YouTube.

I'm going to drag this back to the front. I was unable to use my G40 this year on a deer to get my own results, but I have been searching. I m planning on taking it on a bear hunt with me in Maine this year. Last time I was there (2015) shots where close. I m trying to decide how to set my G40 up for the baited hunt. I m currently running the stock set up with a vortex red dot. I m finding the vortex to be less than reliable. I m planning on getting that fixed. I was wondering if anyone has jumped up to the 7 or 7.5 " barrel for the 10mm with their glocks?

I have one with a stock barrel and Vortex Venom 3MOA on it. Shoots unbelievable in my opinion. On the right animal with a proper rest, I'd be comfortable shooting it to 100 yards. It's sighted in a little high at 50, which ends up being about 5-6" low at 100 if I'm not mistaken. This is one of the few calibers I don't hand load, so I'm using the Underwood 180 gr XTP bullets. Last year I killed two whitetails and a hog with it. All one-shot kills.
Good luck with yours and keep us posted.

I have a KKM 7" and love it. It is incredibly accurate and has been reliable. I just chronographed a load of Longshot and got 1510 FPS from it with a 180 grain bullet. I think you can get slightly more than that with Power Pistol and a 180 grain bullet. The added length is not noticeable for my chest rig. I have a Trijicon RMR on my model 40 it is incredibly reliable and the variable intensity is a real good feature.

I have considered putting a 7 inch KKM barrel in my G40.

Good luck with yours and keep us posted. Man, I m running the exact same set up, ammo and all and it all went to pot on me in September........I wonder what the heck is going on? The Vortex is on its way to back to be looked over. I will re clean the barrel but man its looks super clean now.

I hunted some with a Glock 20. Jill?s a deer and a few pigs. I used the 180 xtp loafed about 1200 FPS. Underwood ammo actually shot a little faster in my gun than advertised. I tried to match their loads and came pretty close with 800x but primers were showing pressure signs and accuracy wasn?t good. Their loads shot well in my gun. I think my favorite thing about the 10mm was practicing was so much fun compared to big bores. Considering a Glock 40 and to get back in the 10mm game. I will say everything I shot with mine died quickly but nothing had an exit wound.

Look at the new Ruger in 10 mm very nice set up. Scope ready, 6.5 " barrel. I bet is very easy to shoot and super accurate. Love my Glock 40 as well.

I've taken two deer with my Glock 20. Both deer were shot using out-of-box Hornady 180 XTP's and both went down within 30 yards of the shot. The second deer needed a finisher after a poorly placed initial hit.
As of today, were I looking for a 10mm to hunt with, I'd buy one of the 2 Ruger revolvers currently offered. I just like those platforms better.

Any idea what you are getting for velocities in that setup compared to an auto setup?

I have a Glock 20SF with a JPoint reflex sight that I carry hunting. I've not had the opportunity to take a deer with it, but it's very accurate with Nosler 180 grain JHP's and 190 grain hard cast.

I've got a Glock 20 and a Blackhawk 10mm/.40 on order but I've not taken anything with the 10mm. I've had a G40MOS in the past, nice gun but sadly I've not got the chance to go hunting in the past few years.

I have the old Deltapoint on a Kimber 1911 set up for .45 super. It wouldn't hold zero and had to go to the factory. Since it was repaired, it has worked perfectly for about 2 years. I have the newer model Deltapoint Pro on a 6" 1911 10mm that has been perfect. I really like the improvements Leupold made on the Pro. However, I just mounted another DPP on a FA .454 and after 25 rounds the automatic on with movement feature is not working. It's about to go back to Leupold for repair.
