I know Ruger makes a Single Six Bisley. I could not find a Stainless Single Six Bisley in the 22lr/ 22 Mag convertible. Has any converted a Single Six to Bisley? What is involved and where did you get the parts?

There has never been a 22 Bisley convertible to my knowledge. You'd be better served to buy the current SS Bisley 22LR and fit a 22 mag cylinder to it than to try to turn a Single Six convertible into a Bisley, IMO. That's what I did with the blued model a few years ago.

Badubet,,, You can get the parts form Randle Powers at Powers custom DBA Grand Masters google them. Hammer and trigger with springs runs $199.00 and a Bisley Grip frame will be from 100-129.00 depending upon who you get it from. If Midway or others are out of Stck then contact Ruger they have sold them direct to me. The work is not that bad if you know anything about the Rugers but if you are a complete Newbie then take photos before and during breakdown. Find some directions if need be. The Grip Frame is not that bad if you get a Ruger brand. Some of the knockoffs and brass ones were terrible at fitting. Use files & sandpaper to fit it. Use a solid backer such as steel ( for use with sandpaper) for straight lines. For the sandpaper use wet dry paper or Emory Cloth. Get these at Auto body shop or,, OReilly's sells it too. Don't know what finish you have on your gun. The brushed SS can be matched with the maroon colored Scotch Brite pads. High Polish is matched with compound and buffing. Please note that most likely your old grip scales will not fit the new frame. You will need to send the frame to a good quality custom grip maker. On the 22/22mag ?? do you have a convertible? Are you wanting one?

I have the convertible already. I figured it was easier to install the grip frame and hammer and trigger than finding nd fitting a mag cylinder.

I have never converted a Bisley grip frame so cannot comment on that but I have converted cylinders on more than one revolver and it is a piece a cake. The trick is in the new cylinder being the same length from ratchet to boss, or slightly longer, as the original cylinder. It is a simple process to stone a few thou's off the front of the boss of the new cylinder.

s4s4u Not arguing your point on this,,, and maybe you were lucky and just maybe you do not care or did not care about the barrel cylinder gap. Did both cylinders give the same measurement? Another thing is the timing,,,, even though Ruger made both cylinders and even if both drop in,, the timing can be off. The boss being the same length or longer, doesn't mean that when fitted to the frame that it will have the same cylinder barrel gap. Some people this doesn't bother. But to some like myself I want the same barrel and cylinder gap and I want both cylinders to be timed correct.
In theory this sounds good and seems like it should work. I am referring to the stoning off the boss to correct dimensions. It does not mean that it will shoot straight or as well as the other cylinder. I am leaving out the variables such as dimensions, bullet sizing etc. And more importantly Wear!!!
If the OP has a convertible then it is much easier in this case for him to fit a frame.
It maybe possible with the new trigger and hammer that some timing may need to be addressed. Hopefully this will not be a problem. I have done this before and did not have problems. As a matter of fact my 44 mag Bisley with the 4 5/8 barrel started life as a plow handled grip frame. Ruger did not make these and I wanted one, so the work began.

even though Ruger made both cylinders and even if both drop in,, the timing can be off There is nothing to "time" on a Ruger SA. I've done 2 Ruger 45's, a 357, and a Ruger 22 and all were well within spec. There are lots of cylinders out there for sale so you can shop around for the correct length. If the OP wants to convert the handle, trigger and hammer on his gun by all means. I am just saying there are other options out there, and at a lesser cost.

I think I?ll just leave it alone. It?s a tackdriver as is. Don?t want to mess with a good thing. Maybe Lipsey?s and Ruger are listening and will come out with one later. In stainless please.
