You have time, tag, and resources for one final hunt. What species? What geographical location? What gun?
For me, I believe it would be a monster muley in Colorado, with a .460 SW revolver.
How about it?

Hell I may do that even if I am not about to croak.

Tiger would be high on my list if it was legal....
Another bucket list hunt would be gaur, probably in India.
Most likely with my BFR in .460 S&W loaded with A-frames at max velocity.

COASTAL BROWN BEAR HUNT IN ALASKA OFF OF A FANCY BOAT, USING A 10 INCH OR 12 INCH FREEDOM ARMS 454, LOADED WITH A 325gr BARNES BUSTER, OR A 320gr PUNCH OR A 300gr LEHIGH WFN MONOLITHIC OR A 300gr OR 325gr SWIFT AFRAME. BEEN THINKING ABOUT THIS HUNT, BUT FOR FAR LESS EXPENSIVE BLACK BEAR.

I'm really digging the range of answers here...from prairie dogs to Karaganda Argali (had to look that one up, Dave), to anything as long as it's with friends.
Very cool to see what trips everyone's trigger...

For me it would have to be a bear. I'd like a black bear, but an Alaskan brown would be better. With either one I'd be carrying a newly acquired BFR 454 Casull.

Let me die sitting on a rock wall with the fall leaves all around. A corn cob pipe in my hand, a single shot 16ga. in my lap, and a Cocker or Springer spaniel at my side. If ya find me ya can have the gun, take my dog and give her a good home, just leave me and my pipe be.
Everything before "but" is B.S.

Randy do we have to die after playing this game? If so being able to call in 20 coyotes all at once and shooting everyone of them with my pistols. (New York Reloads only)
Or how about more realistic a huge Lion in Africa with my FA 454?

Take my son and grandsons on a full scale African Safari. I would use my 460XVR and go for Buffalo, Sable, Eland, and Kudu (at least). The boys could take whatever they want. I would probably try for a few Warthogs too as I loved ?the hunt? for them. If I am going out I want to go big.

Alaska for a free for all! This was almost my answer. I've been to Alaska and killed two caribou. By far the best 10 days of hunting I've ever experienced.

Mountain Goat.....any one of my single shots
Or
Sambar
Or
Karaganda Argali David I would expect these choices from you! Hell you might need a long range rifle for support on the Karaganda Argali there are some unfriendlies in that area! My hunt is much simpler probably Elk with my SBH .44 mag. But it is hard to beat a Michigan fall afternoon, with the sun starting to set. The colors on the trees. My 20 ga shotgun, dogs running chasing pheasant. And of course my son Rocco.

Blackbear in Idaho or Colorado. Riding horses, camping in wall tent, with a few good friends. Would use my Ruger Blackhawk Hunter with MagaPort Stalker Conversion. I would take one of my home made primitive Osage Longbows and stone point arrows for back up. Might as well go out doing what I like if things go bad. HAH Mike

That question is similar to one I have "when I retire I'm going to hunt......". My current answer is Red Stag in New Zealand with my freedom arms 454 7.5". More realistic I'd be elk in Colorado.

Horseback dry ground Mountain Lion in the desert Southwest with hounds. Staying in a wall tent, with my son and using my Ruger .44 special to dispatch the lion.
I've gone on three hunts like this and still have not connected with a lion. I would hope this fourth time is the charm

My bucket list critter is leopard. For some reason big cats are appealing and the leopard is a tough customer. I'd try with my Toklat shooting heavy 45 Colt loads...or whatever my PH said I should be shooting:)
My backup bucket list critter is interior grizzly on a backpack hunt with Lance Kronberger.

RANDY B: AS A VETERAN AFRICAN HANDGUN HUNTER, I WOULD NOT RELY ON A PH's RECOMMENDATION FOR REVOLVER BULLETS. HAVING TAKEN 3 LEOPARDS WITH A REVOLVER I WOULD SAY YOU SHUD USE A GOOD WFN STYLE BULLET (LEHIGH 300, PUNCH 320, AND, AT 1,300FPS OR LESS, A GOOD CAST BULLET), OR A 265gr SWIFT AFRAME, AND, IF YOU CAN PUSH IT FAST ENUFF, THE 250gr BRANES MONOLITHIC HP.
