This is my first North Carolina whitetail... First deer taken with a single shot handgun... XP-100 in 260 Remington shooting 120gr Fusion ammo. It was a 30 or so yard shot from treestand at slight 1/4 away with exit at right shoulder with tiny bits of bone coming out of the one inch exit hole... never saw that before...

Nice job James, the 260 was always one of my very favorite calibers. It was easy to find accurate loads with about any powder/bullet combination. Congratulations!

I do not have a 260 but I do have a CVA Scout pistol in 6.5 Creedmoor which is very close. I have already killed two deer with it this season. One at 125 yards. I love it.

Congrats, James! You have now put the pressure on me! I?ve got to hunt with my XP and get some blood on it. It does feel good to do a ?first? with a handgun - I got my first deer with a self-shucker this year and it just happened to be the John Browning masterpiece 1911.
