Just purchased the above mentioned barrel and am curious if anybody has some powder and bullet suggestions for accuracy on deer sized game. Thanks!

100 grains of Blackhorn 209 behind a 45 caliber 225 grain Powerbelt Aerotip is a an accurate and hard hitting combination in mine.

Thanks for the information. Unfortunately, I can't find any Blackhorn at the moment which isn't much of a surprise. However, I do have plenty of Pyrodex so I guess I'll start with 100 grains of that behind some barnes expanders and hornady sst bullets and see what happens.

I have one but it?s the G2 version. I haven?t had a chance to do any load development yet. I have several different sabot and bullet combinations to try and am looking forward to seeing how it shoots. Didn?t get it in time to do any hunting with it.

I have the CVA 50 cal Optima V2. I tried every black powder substitute and pellet I could lay hands on. Every thing worked reasonably well. The difference is powder fouling. With Blackhorn 209 you can just keep on shooting until you decide to quit. I am sure it does have some round count where you do need to stop and clean, but it is past 12 shots. With the others I was cleaning after every shot. I did come up with some Black MZ I believe it was called. I did not get around to working with it. I believe it was the next best thing to Blackhorn 209 from what I could find out.
Good Luck

Just wondering, do you have the smoke brake on yours?

I do have the smoke brake on the MGM barrel. I have not shot it yet because I am still assembling the components and really hoping to come across some Blackhorn 209. If not, Pyrodex will have to do which I'm okay with. I've used it for years and clean my firearms shortly after each use.
