I would love to say that i've used my excess free time since the site was down to get out and do a lot of shooting, but sadly that wasn't the case.

I did make some progress on the Round-Butt redhawk in 45 colt/acp earlier i picked up last fall. It had a nasty habit of really digging into the side of my thumb with +p colt loads. I put a Hogue grip on it that seems to have completely fixed the problem. The wood grips were beautiful, but at this point I prefer a gun I can shoot. For not having shot it much, it was grouping nicely for me at 25 yards.

I also swapped out the sights to Illuminated light tubes and like the results with that. I've got to spend some time in the reloading room so I can get it out on a regular basis this summer.

karl,
i have a 4.25" redhawk in 44 mag lipsey model -yep feel your pain with the factory grips. shot several hundred rounds through it before switching to pachmeyer grips- totally tamed the recoil- mine will shoot lights out with both jacketed and hard cast lead as long as i do my part, i put a burris FF3 on mine cause the eyes told me to.
good luck with yours

It is a nice little package that is fun to shoot. I want to get this out hunting this fall, preferably with iron sights if possible. Unfortunately aging eyes and coke bottle glasses don't help the cause there. Now if I can just find some more reloading components. We've got a stand that we moved into some heavy cover on a deer highway...

I am looking for some (2-3 boxes) of the 225gn barnes XPB bullets. I've got everything else including some XTPs for summer practice. I may have to bite the bullet and buy some of the Buffalo Bore loads (they are available) if I want to make this work this fall.
