Has anyone used the EGW RMR mount on Blackhawk?

One has one screw. Thinking about adding another screw.

This is a 45 Colt

If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

No but I am curious about the answer.

"A quiet hit in the right place is better than a loud miss in the wrong place followed by 10 more shots on the run"

I was a handgun hunter, when handgun wasn't cool.....

I have a Raptor mount with a red dot on a .41 mag Blackhawk. Only one screw in it as it comes from the maker. The third shot and the sight hit me in the forehead. I had Alan Harton drill and tap the top strap for another screw and that did the trick.

I've had Raptor and EGW single screw RDS mounts on Rugers in 44 Mag, 45 Colt, 357 Maxi and BFR 454. All worked perfectly except the 44 Mag which sheared two screws before I had it d/t for a second screw. I think the Raptor mount was a loose fit in the rear sight channel and that caused the screw to shear. I'd try any new mount with just one screw first to see if it held before I d/t a gun for a second screw.

Someone, and I don't remember who, is making RDS mounts that uses the rear sight pin to help secure their one screw mount. Sounds like a good idea to me.

If I do add one I think I will put the extra screw in place.

That would remove all doubt that the mount will hold.

I have one of the EGW mounts on my 44mag Redhawk. It is the same mount for both applications.

As delivered, the single screw mount, it is plenty secure. My 5 1/2" redhawk has seen countless full power magnum rounds and the mount is still tight and secure.
