The Contender I just picked(see went & I did it-unmarked barrel) up has an "Ingram" 30-30 barrel.
Anybody familiar with this brand?
It also has a Tasco "Pro Class" 3x scope. Anyone know about the quality of these? I'm thinking about taking it off of the 30-30 & putting it on my super 14 44 mag barrel. Will it hold up to full house 320 gr loads?

I've heard of Ingram barrels before, but not often. As to the scope...I love the Pro Class from Tasco. I have four of the 4X and the same 3X that you have. I really like the 30mm tube. I've never had a problem with them holding up to recoil and one is mounted on a Super 14 .44 Magnum. Mount the optics straight and solid and it will hold.

I too have heard of Ingram Barrels but really do not know nothing about them. I did see one once many years ago at a Gun Show, and if I remember correctly it looked to be of good quality.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Thanks Dan, this post was getting kind of lonely.
Thanks for the Tasco report. i know some of their stuff is great, & some... well, isn't. Hopefully I'll have time to get it on the 44 mag today.
For right now, it's to pretty outside to work, so I'm going to take a predator call & go sit in a tree for an hour or so & see if I can get a bear hungry enough that it wants to come eat me. Hopefully a black bear since we can't shoot the browns. I'd hate to disapoint a brownie & make him mad.
Especially a hungry one.
