Jeff460 here and happy to enjoy this wonderful site. I have been assaulted by an unforeseen financial liability so I have no money available as I had earlier promised. Nonetheless, I will be doing so someday as long as I am still alive with a sound mind intact. It is my estimation that I STILL have a sound mind.

My name is Ryan. I love hunting with handguns! I have a 7mm TCU Contender, .44 Mag Encore Pro-Hunter, a stainless .357 Ruger SBH Bailey, and I am getting into building more custom handguns for hunting. Good to be here!

My name is Curt. I?m from New Jersey and have never hunted with a handgun due to local laws. I?m a diehard bow hunter and gun hunter though and I feel that all forms of hunting should be supported

Hello all. Paul here from central Arkansas. I don't know how I just found this forum. I am a member of a few others, and in fact, I recognize a few of you from them.
I'm in the legal field. Right now I'm the trial court administrator for a circuit judge, and am a law student at night. Unfortunately that has left me little time over the past 3 years to do very much loading or shooting. I still lurk on the boards when I can and live vicariously through you all. Hopefully I'll have more free time soon and will get to go burn some powder.
I've never killed a game animal with a handgun, but that is something I hope to remedy soon. I have a 7.5" Blackhawk in .45 Colt and a 4 5/8" Super Blackhawk in .44 mag that should be more than up for the task if I can get one within 40-50 yards. On my short list is a revolver that I can mount an optic on to extend that range a bit.
Anyway, glad to be here.

My name is Rick, now 67, have been a past member of HHI, started hunting with handguns in early 80's, have taken a number of whitetail deer, a great mulie (#2 HHI for 1994), three pronghorn, some varmints, coyotes, etc. Love hunting/shooting/fishing, and a former trapper when I lived in Vermont. Recently retired. Two contenders, with 44, 358jdj, and 257jdj barrels. Several big bore revolvers and a couple of 1911's etc. Starting bucket list issues, and hunt a lot with the bow as well. Bucket lists includes Water buff with a big bore revolver, Asian buff with archery, and Croc with one of my contenders!!

Hi ! My name is Mike and I have been hunting with handguns for 40 plus years but almost exclusively since the early 1990's. I was fortunate to meet Doc Rogers in the mid 1990's and he has been a constant good friend and mentor in my handgun endeavors. I have Freedom Arms Revolvers , S&W's , T/C 's , but my favorites are my HS-Precision and Rem. XP-100 single shots. I enjoy collecting and shooting as much as I do hunting with the pistols above. I've been to Alaska hunting three times and enjoy deer and varmint hunting.

Paul from AK. I've been thinking my 50th birthday next year will be a good enough reason to get a 500 JRH. I started doing some research on the 500 JRH and came across this forum. I see quite a few familiar names from other forums.
I'm hoping that now that my kids are through high school I'll have some time to go hunting. They were all involved in cross country and that pretty much kept me out of hunting for 10 years.
Finally took my first moose last fall. While I had my 480 on the hunt, I ended up taking the moose with my 350 rem mag rifle.

Rick here, been handgun hunting since early 80's. Recently retired. Own 358jdj, 257jdj, 44 mag contender, 454 Taurus, 44 mag model 29, and. a pair of 1911's and a 22 pistol. Have taken a number of whitetails with 44's, and mule deer and antelope with the 358 and 257, as well as a small pile of prairie dogs in Wyoming. Big game hunting is my passion, with bow, gun, or handgun. Have been all over the rockies from NWT to New Mexico. Love to shoot all kinds of low level competition (skeet, practical, bowling pin).

Hello folks, my name is Lynn ( I?m a man) 😂. I am 61 years old and live in central Pennsylvania. I have been hunting since I was 12. I have been hunting with a revolver on and off for 35 years. I always used my.44 Magnum Super Blackhawk for deer. I am interested in hunting fall turkey here in Pa with my Taurus M66 with six in barrel. I am a reloader and bullet caster also. I usually shoot targets and steel plates for practice which is once or twice a month. Thanks for excepting me as a member.

My name is Reno. Long time 'lurker' and finally joined. I'm 52 years young. Retired LEO from the mountains of northern California. I came to my senses and moved to Idaho to live free (California is nuts!). I was raised in the mountains and have hunted since I was 12 years old. My hunting preferences are deer, hogs and black bear. I am currently climbing a steep learning curve on Elk. I hope to harvest my first Elk with my .500 JRH BFR (thank you Tertin & Co.). Many on the board know me as a machinist / barrelsmith for JRH for several years. I look forward to meeting more like-minded shooters, and to strengthen my knowledge base. Cheers -

Hello to all. I have been lurking around here for a couple years, but figured it was time to get on board. I moved to a rural property last spring which has pushed me to get a few new toys. And I blame a few folks here for the new additions, too. Lol. Picked up a CVA Scout 243 pistol, a CVA Optima V2 pistol, and now ordered a T/C Contender G2 frame, in the last few days/weeks. Let the fun begin. Great site you all have here.

I'm Steve and new to this site. I've been a lurker for a long time. I'm not much of a joiner I guess. I've been hunting and shooting guns all my life. I've shot in IDPA, GSSF, and organized bowling pin matches. I've also hunted small game and varmints with handguns. I decided this year I would go deer hunting with a handgun and now I'm hooked! I killed a doe with my Optima CVA pistol in MZ early season. Then I killed a small buck and a doe in regular gun season with a four inch S&W 44mag.!

Hi all, been lurking around the forums for a while now, thought it was about time to join. I have been hunting and shooting all my life. I have been handgun hunting since the early 2000s. I have taken several whitetail with my SRH 454 7.5" (mostly with the discontinued 260gr Partition, now using 300gr A-frame), several varmints with a Colt Python and countless squirrels/rabbits with a S&W 63. I also have a S&W 29 Classic DX 8 3/8 and a 686+. I have moved south to Florida, looking to get into hog hunting. Probably use that as an excuse to buy a new gun Several options including a Redhawk 45 colt (to try out those long 405gr Garretts), Bisley SBH 480, or the BFR 50jrh. Just trying to decide how practical I want to be.

Thanks for the welcome Max. Actually I need to try those 405gr in my SRH since I already have that. The internet had told me the 1:24 wouldn't stabilize it, until I had read some of your other posts somewhere that it stabilized fine.

The internet had told me the 1:24 wouldn't stabilize it, until I had read some of your other posts somewhere that it stabilized fine. I was also under the impression they wouldn't work, so I tried them out and got great accuracy, and terminal goodness. Truth be told, I don't think they offer anything over the 365 grain loads.
