Well ,I tried for the big guy in the timber :'( but, this guy came along. It's all good tho I have one more bear tag left! I tried something new this year ::) I set up my tree stand on a bear trail in the timber that leads to a creek and berry patch. " Guess it worked" [smiley=lol.gif] At about 3:00pm this guy comes walking up the trail and stoped 30 yards from my tree stand and started sniffing. I was using my 15" 30-06 Ackley Imp. loaded with a 168gr Barnes TSX. I hit him in the left front shoulder. The Barnes TSX went all the way throught and out his right rear leg. Entrance wound was about the size of a dime exit wound was massive! I'm impressed with the new Barnes TSX's I know I'll use them from now on.

Way to go bud. Looks like the .30-06AI is a success, and the Barnes bullets too for that matter.
Congrats

Thanks Larry, I think the 150gr TSX's would work very well in the 30-30 AI too. Hmmmmmmm maybe I'll hunt the rest of bear season with my 30-30 AI. I have used XLC's in the past with good performance but, these TSX's are the BOMB!

Great pic and report. What a good set up. That was one plan that really came together. Now to find another trail right quick like. Congrats on a great bear with the handcannon.

When I talked to the guy at Barnes he told me the 150gr. XLC or Triple Shock will expand in soft tissue down to an impact velocity of 1800 FPS, and that the 130gr. SLC would expand in soft tissue down to an impact velocity of 1600 FPS. If these bullets do not foul as badly as the original X Bullets they may be the ideal bullet for Handguns.
I have a buddy that shoots nothing but Winchester Supreme Fail Safes and you couldn't convince him there is a better bullet available. Yes I know it is not a Barnes, but designed along similar parameters.
I would be real interested in how the 150gr. TSX will perform out of the .30-30 AI. You know the deal, inquiring minds want to know.

Yup, I plan on using the 480. I have the 44 all ready for back up. Now just a little more load development for the 480 and I should be ready.
