I ended up getting a 6.5JDJ#2 instead of a regular 6.5JDJ. This is based off of a 307 Win. case. It's up at JD's getting new screws on the TSOB(bought used from Ed's T/C and TSOB had been switched from an other barrel and only had 4 screws holding TSOB on instead of 6)I have a 3X9 Burris A/O sitting in safe awaiting it's arrival back home and new 307 brass to form when dies arrive. Does any one here on this site shoot or shoots with someone who has a 6.5JDJ#2? Any load info and bullet info would be appreciated! This will be a varmit barrel mainly. Thanks

I have not worked with the 6.5JDJ (or the #2) but have used quite a few different light 6.5mm bullets. The 85gr Sierra and 90gr Speer TNT have a high splatter factor on smaller varmints. If you are after fur I would go a little heavier. The 100gr Sierra and Hornady's are VERY accurate in my 6.5T/CU with 100yd groups typically near 1/2". The 100gr Nosler BT's never did shoot well for me at all.

UPDATE: Got barrel back from SSK and recived dies($135.00 for 2-die set from RCBS "Gulp"). Fire formed some brass and loaded a few with 95gr Horn V-max. I've got 129 gr & 140gr Horn SST's on the way. Will shoot saturday. The only disapointment was load info from SSK. One load each of 120-129-140 all using IMR4350 between 40-43grains. Someone else out there has got to know someone who shoots a 6.5JDJ#2(based off of .307 Win). Fireformed case looks serious.

Maybe this will help some. I have a 6.5 JDJ, not the #2, and I really like it. I have had good luck with RL 15 using the 100 and 120-grain Nosler BT's and the Speer 120-grain Hot-Cor. All of the these bullets have produced 5-shot groups around 0.8" at 100 yards from the bench. Varget is a close second with the 120-grain BT. Bummer about the load data from SSK.

Dan, would the .260 with the 6.5 bullet be about the same as the 6.5JDJ#2?
I shoot the .260 with 120grn, 6.5 Speer bullets and Varget. It is very accurate. I'm sure there are loads with the Varget.

Took 6.5JDJ#2 to the range sat. 1st results weren't too bad. 5-shot group @100yds(with frozen fingers) was at 1.25". As far as comparing to .260 rem(thanks for suggestion) looks like loading on the low end of published data would work. I compared what SSK gave me to what was published and it fell on the low end of data. Will only x-perement if I can't get IMR4350 to work.
