The geese photos rock. I love waterfowl hunting. You have quiet the selection of toys and hobbies. Very good looking lab also.
From the picture of your Ruger, just replace the grip screw with a sling stud and attach a shortened sling. The front is looped over the barrel. When you get to your stand , just remove it.

Thank you Rick for the kind words! Do you know if there are any pictures of the "sling-method" of carry I can use as a guide? I will be on and off a fourwheeler with it checking traps and the when deer hunting I will be climbing and whatnot so I am thinking a cross draw type holster might be more comfortable? Many thanks for the reply and suggestion, I will have to check into it a little more.
