Hi,

I'm Noah. I live in southern WI. Enjoy hunting, fishing and woodworking. My handgun hunting experience so far has been with my only revolver a 6.5" taurus raging bull 44. I have taken two deer with it so far.

I have a blackhawk bisley hunter 44 on order and it should be arriving sometime soon. Bought a leupold 2x to try for fun on it, not sure I will hunt with it on.

Going elk hunting this fall in CO and excited about that. 3rd season and I got a cow tag. My brother is coming with and he has a bull tag. Ordering some hard cast ammo soon and plan to carry the blackhawk with me in case I get a close shot.

I also bought a davis tent and four dog stove which I am looking forward to trying out.

Lots of interesting information on this site.

Noah

Welcom! I'd bet once you get used to the leupold on the bisley you'll love it and hunt with it but let us know how you like the combo and again welcom.

Hi,

I'm Paul. I live in SE Wisconsin.
A reloader from way back and used to shoot IPSC for fun.
Used a pistol to hunt rabbit or whatever else I could hit(Browning Buckmark & old Ruger MKII in .22LR) way back when in Ohio and Kentucky because the .22s were cheaper than 12 ga shells, and I didn't want haul the old Model 34 Remington up and down hills.
:-)
In the here & now:
Have a Taurus .357 mag with a 6 1/2 inch barrel. Target trigger and grips that i have thought about putting a scope on but haven't had it drilled & tapped yet.
Long distance hand guns caught my interest and found a used Savage Striker in .22-250 and have been using it for kissing coyotes out to about 250 yds.

Will be picking people's brains around here as I want to have a custom barrel from Badger barrels in .300WSM made for the Striker. Hoping I go for coyote on one day and can change out the barrel for deek, elk the next.
Maybe for some competition because I can't afford a MOA Maximum.
I am pretty sure my idea MAY be sound but looking for guidance from more experienced people than me. Especally trying to use one scope for two calibers.
So far, I have seen nothing but good on this site and thanks ahead of time.

Welcome, and although I'm a single action revolver guy you'll find lots of guys here very knowledgable in the single shot arena.

Hi, I'm Bill and I'm a moderately experienced hunter and relatively new to the handgun hunting seen. I've always been an avid shooter and especially into handguns, however primarily black guns (probably because of my previous vocation). I'm retired from the US Army and am now an Insurance Agent (boy what a dichotomy). I've been around the world several times and hunted in a few of these locations. I have no where near the experience that most of you gentlemen have though, but am anxious to learn. My handguns of hunting choice are Ruger's. I have 2 Blackhawk 45 convertibles, a Single Six and my newest toy the Super Redhawk in 454 w/ 7.5 bbl. I like each of these for their own purpose and love Rugers in general because they are extremely tough, reliable and quite accurate right out of the box. I'm currently looking to scope the SRH due to my aging eyesight, I'll gladly accept all advice.

Best Regards,
Bill

Hello,
My name is Lance. I live in West Texas where I like to hunt big whitetails and ducks. I use a stock Ruger SBH .44 and a Recurve bow for the archery season. Been handgunning for about 30 yrs and still learning every year. Nice to find a site with fellow hunters that like to hunt with the handguns! Look forward to meeting everyone!

hey I am gene, I have been hunting with a handgun since 1976.I traded a rifle for a 44 contender and could not hit the wall across the room.but after alot of ammo and a scope. now that was really something back then cause everybody gave me a hard time. now they tell me to take the handgun after seeing what it has brought home. also I try to put god and family first now(not so in earlier years), but I still love to do anything outdoors.I am disabled with a bad back. thank god I am walking!!! I also give alot of time to the wheeln sportsmen(nwtf)a disabled organization in va. We sure have a great time. Ask your local nwtf group about it is nation wide.anyway I think we need to help someone each day to make there life a little bit better no matter what it is or who it is. Thanks

Welcome aboard Gene. Looks like we are brothers in more ways then one. I to have a bad back and had surgery last year on it. I'm walking but I have to use a cane and may have to use it for the rest of my life. I am retired/disabled as well. I just thank God that I can still shoot and hunt. I just have to have someone along to get the game out for me. Which isn't a bad thing come to think of it. LOL Again welcome to the site, you will have a lot of fun with this crew and learn a bunch of stuff about, well, handguns and hunting with them. LOL later rupe

Welcome from Oregon, glad to have you aboard. You need to get out there and get those barrels broken in. We have a rule here that if you don't shot a new firearm with in 2 weeks of getting it you have to give it to Rupe. PM me for my address. LOL

Hi my name is Lance. I live in S.W. Missouri and I have several pistols but I recently bought a contender with a 30-30 barrel. I have hunted small game with my Browning buckmark several times and I have taken a deer with a ruger super blackhawk 44mag once. I have always wanted a contender and I finally bought one. I have hunted with an Encore 209x50 for 8yrs now and have taken several deer. I am ready for the handgun challenge now.

Hello my name is Dale I'm from S.E. Georgia, (Appling County). I've a been viewing this wedsite several years now and started handgung hunting last year. I purchased an Encore in 7mm-08 in 2007, and started pistol hunting, well I missed a nice 8pt on opening day but I redeemed myself by taking a doe @ 75 yds and a spike buck 125 yds by the end of the season. I'm hooked for life!!
