personally I wouldn't own anything from Taurus.

I just purchased one about a week ago. I have about 150 rounds through it so far. It shoots and cycles great. I like the way it feels and have had no problems with. Who knows what the future holds but they do have lifetime warranties. So if it ever has any big problems I will send it in to be fixed then sell it. That's what I do with any gun.

just put my pt145 pro on the choppin block yesterday, mine was very reliable!carried concealed very well and shot anything i fed it.it was a gun i really had no need for to start with and never shot,i guess theres a lemon in all of them but taurus has a reputation of making more than their share.
i would save a couple hundred bucks more and get a glock if concealed carry is your primary use,get a sub or compact and dont look back...the glock want die!

if it ain't broke....give me a minute!

I actually just had a friend go through the police academy in portland and the issue weapons most guys had were the Glocks but my buddy has is XD and XD sub compact in 40 S&W. They apparently got a bad batch of ammo because the glocks started jamming up and wouldn't cycle but the XD while it didn't like it much it kept running without a single jam. I have to lean toward the XD, I'm not a big fan of auto loaders but I follow them and if I were going to buy one that's what I'd get which is why I told him to get the two he has and now he's bought a compact for his wife. The other alternative and the only auto I own is old dependably herself, the 1911 in one of it's many stages is still the most reliable and tough auto I've ever shot and the 45 ACP will put the bad guys down real quick with the right ammo, much more so than the 10mm/40 or especially the wussy 9mm. If it were me looking for a ccw rig I'd go with one of the smith airweights or something similiar, the 357 will do the job well. I once read the 357 was the number one fight stopper in the country at one time and it's one shot one kill ratio was much higher than alot of the other cartridges out.The other nice thing about that is revolvers don't generally jam and if you have a speed loader or two in your pocket and you've practiced you'll put the auto's down with better accuracy if that becomes and issue and in cartridge power, since most thugs like 9's amd 380's That's my long winded opinion, hope it helps.

I guess with all the talk of xframes lately you do have the option of the 2 3/4" 500 or 460, that should be a good manstopper
