As expected...my 'smith came through again. Performed a weekend turn around on a gun project...it was a simple rebarrel of an XP-100. He yanked the .30BR and threaded/chambered a Kreiger barrel for .243 Winchester. The barrel is a 1-12" twist with a finished length of 18" and about .850" at the muzzle. Total cost for the barrel and work....$250.

I've already got her saddled in a HS Precision stock and topped with a Weaver base, Burris rings and 10X Burris scope. I loaded six rounds with 38.5gr Varget and some (very) old Hornady 70gr Spire Point bullets. Shooting from my wobbly picnic table on the porch, I was able to shoot two-three shot groups that were perfect .5" triangles at 100yds. After that I dry fired a few and was getting about .5" of movement when the trigger broke. I told you the table was wobbly!

Anyhooo...seems that she wants to be a shooter! The 70's are no problem for the twist rate either. Now I'll start bumping up to 75's and 80's to seem how heavy I can go. I'll post up a pic later.

You must be on your gunsmiths' favorite list! With a turn around that quick you are lucky. Good luck with your new toy and good shooting.

Looks SWEET Dan!!!

I'll bet that XP will like the 75gr V-Max's, they always shoot good in both my 243 handguns.

Dan, that's nice!

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

Can I have it back now!

If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.
