Does season opened where I hunt in South Carolina yesterday. We are enrolled in the Antlerless Deer Quota Program, and recieved 50 tags this season to be divided among 5 hunters. I got off to a good start filling two after being in the stand about 20 minutes. As the sun came up there were about a dozen deer already in the beans in front of me. I selected the doe closest to me, about 70 yds, and dropped the hammer on her with my .41 Bisley Hunter. She gave a high kick and scrambled about 10 yds before piling up. Her yearling hesitated a second too long before hitting the woods and I shot her through the neck (high beans) at about 65 yds. She went down DRT. My load was a Speer 220 JSP over WW296.

WTG! FLS! Off to a great start.

Now that's how to start the season!! Congrats FLS.

I'd rather be lost in the woods with my 41 Mag. Than found at home without it.

Very Good Start. Now I hope you have enough freezer space to keep on hunting. We had to quit early last season due to the freezers being full. The wife had to stock up on Thanks Giving Turkeys on sale before deer season, and ended up with 6 Turkeys in the freezer. They took up the space of probably 3 average deer. We are down to One Turkey left. I am shooting for No Turkeys in the freezer on Day One of Deer Season this year.
