My wife offically band me from any online actions. She thinks this is just a chatroom.

Im working on 12 step system right now. Need HELP
anybody else having trouble with this?

BFR,

I feel your pain. And although I won't quantify how my collection has grown significantly (thanks in part to forums like this and others), I still don't believe quitting cold turkey is the way to go. In fact, stopped in at a gun store today, and a Beretta O/U and Colt Python really wanted to take a ride home with me. And drooled on a DW 4 barrel set...
\:\/

Oh, and I e-mailed a guy about a 44 Mag FA tonight, and talked to my gunsmith about my rifle build, and ... you see, it's contagious. Got any thing else you want to sell me to help build your handgun collection?

Good luck with that.... I don't need it..... I don't suffer from it...... my habbits are under control...... it's not about needs it's about wants...... my obsessive hunting is justified.... I reload for theraputic reasons..... having one of everything is just an option for variety in a crazy world..... ah....... yeah.... that's it......

12 step program...

Does that mean you stop at 12 guns or does that mean you have 12 clips/boxes of ammo for each gun?

I, too, do not need more (or most of what I have). However, I picked up two bargains a couple of weeks ago at our annual hunt from a friend from AZ (S&W 629 & SSK 309 JDJ). Just could not pass them up. I am still trying to figure out what to do with them --- LOL. Guess that for now I will stack them in the safe.

Good guess, but no.
It does have a case capacity beyond the 6.5-284 and or the 30-06, and it is above the 6mm bore.

My Uncle has one of Jarrett’s Beanfield rifles in the 243 Catbird.

Jarrett Rifles, 243 Catbird

The .243 Catbird was conceived to be an ultra-long range 6mm varmint round, but also works quite well for a deer cartridge. It is a .270 Winchester case necked down to .243 and blown out with a 35 degree shoulder. This case is delivering some impressive velocities. Our original goal was to get 4000 f.p.s. with a 68-70 gr. bullet. However, we surpassed this goal with 4100 f.p.s. We were able to achieve 3800 f.p.s. with an 85 gr. bullet and 3500 f.p.s. with a 95 gr. Nosler Partition. This cartridge packs plenty of punch for long range varmint hunting or medium range deer hunting.

Cases for this chambering are quite easy to form. You simply run a .270 Win. case through a Catbird full length sizing die, load it with a reduced load and fire-form it by simply shooting it through your gun. There are two versions of this cartridge. One of them has a tight neck and the other has a standard neck. The cases for the tight necked version must be neck turned before they can be loaded and fired. Once cases have been fire-formed for either version they can be reloaded as any other cartridge. While this cartridge may not be for everybody, many people will love the high velocity and the accompanying flat trajectories that can be achieved. This round may be the fastest 6mm cartridge ever developed. Of course, you have to give something to get something. She is a “barrel eater” — expect about 1500 rounds of good accuracy.

But that is not it.
I have thought about the 6.5-7mm Dakota though

Nothing based on the RUM case.
See, I do give out hints every once in awhile.
You can also guess on the optic I want to put on it (if you want
) .
It is a brand I do not own.

One more hint, this cartridge will not work with a small or medium action. In other words, no way could you use a XP-100 action.

Hey!! Back off Mr. Preacher!! I honestly though that maybe I was misunderstanding the real word so looked it up for the right reason. So call me stupid, but don't intentionally put me down.

And you are wrong about the anti's; they don't need any more fodder against us.

I use spell check ALL the time. For me the problem isn’t the spelling, it is knowing which witch is which. And if some anti looks at my posts were are all screwed. LOL In fact a couple of days ago my Wife pointed out that instead of “taking” my Dad hunting I was “talking” my Dad hunting. Honestly, I am more worried about the “trolls” we have on this sight that give us a bad name than the spelling that we use.
(The Hunlee’s of the forum that have come and gone... ... ..)

Ps, sounds like you have a problem with preachers... Well this one is my preacher and I happen to agree with what he said! If that offends you I will apologize in advance.

Duane

Clue us in on what this is. We do not want the anti's to read this and think that we are ignorant...
SPELL CHECK IS JUST A CLICK AWAY; don't want to sound too critical but when you put it on the WW Web, EVERYBODY can see it.
\:\)

No one but you.
No one needed to be clued in.
Everyone understood what was being posted.
I don't see the anti's being concerned with our spelling or grammar.

Some folks are skilled at criticism. They tend/choose to see life that way, while at the same time sharing that joy with others.

Hey!! Back off Mr. Preacher!! I honestly though that maybe I was misunderstanding the real word so looked it up for the right reason. So call me stupid, but don't intentionally put me down.

And you are wrong about the anti's; they don't need any more fodder against us.

Be cool, we're all on the same side here.

The antis will find fault in what we do no matter how we do it. That is the nature of the beast.

I was not passing judgement, just offring advice.

Thanks for th apology, but not needed.

but that would not be a long range round. Im thinking it has to be a .338 or .416 and being a wild cat it could very well be a case of his own design. and that would be very cool and interesting.

Runngun, what offended me more than anything is that you called Mr. Ernie “Preacher.” Not by a first or last name, but by a job occupation. In which can apply or assume nuances and applications. In short, “I” felt like you were saying this isn’t Sunday and don’t start. BUT, it is hard to read that and tell what you really meant. Without the nonverbal communication and the verbal inflections is it a L-O-T harder to tell.
