Chuck m here. Been handgun hunting only a few years. Got to many T/C's and Strikers. Just got a XP100R in 223, looking to rebarrel it to 6.5x284. Also just picked up a MOA in 243. I Have been following Ernie"s adventures in long range shooting, and decided I wanted to be like him.

Hi! I'm Rog and I'm from Oklahoma. I work in the automotive industry as a Technician at a catalyst company (we make catalytic converters).
Been hunting with handguns, traditional and modern archery tackle and muzzle loaders since I started hunting.
My first handgun kill was a 5pt gnarly horned buck taken with a T/C Contender in 7-30 Waters.
I primarily have been gun hunting with the T/C Encore during the Oklahoma gun season, but hunt the archery season quite extensively as well.
I will be using a revolver some in the future for the shorter range shots, and as a secondary weapon while carrying my Encore.
Absolutely love handgun hunting.
Regards, Rog

Two Bears in the house !
Given name is John. New to hand gun hunting and have picked up the T/C encore sickness and have recently expanded the sickness with a new to me frame and a new 257 roberts pistol barrel which will get a lot of attention this summer to prepare for longer shooting/hunting. Really into muzzleloaders from flintlocks to the encore 209x50's, I am building a Haines 54 cal flinter now, been playing with a 15" 209x50 ML pistol a bit so this next season should be pretty fun and will have the pistols out in force for the first time. Another habit I picked up last year is BBQ cooking and am building 2 huge smokers that will be mounted on a trailer to go to BBQ contests and cook for parties/catering. This is a bad habit to pick up guy's don't do it........

Yes Isaac Haines. Not a chambers but the lock is a Chambers LH Large Siler. Thw wood is a grade 6 curly maple but I cant remember who who I got it from. The rest of the parts I got from Track of the wolf. The barrel is a 1" Straight 36 " long GM in .54 cal - I was going to build a fullstock hawken with this barrel but changed my mind and went with the Isaac Haines....

HI; my name is Joe, I'm a retired auto worker and live in Indiana. I love to shoot all of my handguns but realy like the T/C contenders. I've been handgun hunting since the mid 70's and can;t imagine not doing it. I like to load for the many wildcats out there with my favorite being the 6.5 JDJ; not realy a wildcat but one of the best rounds out there. I've been bowhunting for 42 years now and love to fish for muskies. Kind of a glutton for punishment. I love the outdoors, no sitting on the couch for me.
Thank You;
Joe W

Hi all. I just discovered "you guys" today and had to register. Although my experience is more with discreet carry, I've decided to join my son here in NE Indiana for deer season later this year, and I want to use something more interesting and challenging than a shotgun. I'm comfortable with large calibers and am leaning toward a Ruger 44-mag, but I'm uncertain about what scope type would be best (red dot or not, with or w/o magnification). I'm 45, so the eyes will be going soon. Any advice?
