In Okla, it's .40 or larger with an exception allowed for the .357 Sig.

It's not the gun, but the man behind it.

Sorry to get off the subject of hunting with a 1911 .45acp, but don't even get me started on restrictions, I live in IL. We can't even hunt deer with a rifle, not to mention the MANY other restrictions too long to list.
This is straight from the IL Dept of Natural Resources for deer hunting:
Deer Hunting Legal Firearms
=Shotguns, loaded with slugs only, of not larger than 10 gauge nor smaller than 20 gauge, not capable of firing more than 3 consecutive slugs; or
=Single or double barreled muzzleloading rifles of at least .45 caliber shooting a single projectile through a barrel of at least sixteen inches in length; or
=Centerfire revolvers or centerfire single-shot handguns of .30 caliber or larger with a minimum barrel length of 4 inches.

I can't even use my Savage .308 or Winchester .270wsm. BUT, I can use my Taurus Raging Bull 6.5" 44mag or my S&W 8 3/8" 500mag! We definitely couldn't use a semi auto pistol of any caliber.
