Great pics everyone. There are few things that are as rewarding as a handgun harvested animal.

Here are a couple of my favorites...

This one was taken close to Gonzalez Texas with a scoped TC Encore in 7-08 at about 65 yards.
[img][/img]

This old bruiser was taken on my lease near Junction, Texas with my a Ruger SBH in .44 mag. Iron sights at about 45 yards.

Gary what gun, scope and ammo combination did you use on those critters if you don't mind my asking?

A little of everything really. The zebra was shot with a .44 Mag. One of the deer was shot with a .45 Colt, one with a .454 and one with a .475. The elk was shot with a .475 but I've also shot elk with 454's and 44 magnums. Bullets have ranged from hard cast to jacketed HP's and soft points.

What is this "cooler weather" you speak of? Winter in Texas usually comes on a Thursday when the temperature drops below 75 for a morning. But...it's a humid, wet, cold. Brrrr

This was one of those hunts where you tell your friends
"you had to be there" because it was so quiet and still in the woods that I heard the big snowflakes hit the ground, heard the sound of a crows wings as it flew low through the forest. I believe the year was 1989 in northwest Pennsylvania...

that is my favorite time to be in the woods.
i know exactly what you mean about hearing the snowflakes hit the ground
when it's soo still it seems like they are falling in slow motion.

this will sound cheezy, but it's magical. the only way to describe it.

cool pic
