Everyone has their pet cartridges and that's the beauty of living in America. No government to dictate the calibers and how many handguns I can own... I have never gotten into the 45 Colt. I reload but also can't walk into just anyplace and pick up a box of 45 Colt hunting loads like I can for the .44 Magnum. I don't think any animal well shot with a .44 or .45 will ever have known the difference. I don't shoot the 45 Colt because I have a 454 and if I'm going for less power/recoil or whatever then I use the .44. If I want a bigger hole and a heavier bullet then I shoot the 475.
