I have never been satisfied with a Ruger revolver that has not had the trigger worked over.
I'm with you on the single actions, but I was pleasantly surprised with the SA trigger pull on my GP100 and SRH. My Bisley Hunter .41 had a poor trigger out of the box, but my Bisley 45LC must have been worked over by the previous owner 'cause it is excellent. For most folks just a spring change will make all the difference, but there is no substitute for an action job if you can afford one.
