I like the Schrade skinning knife. It is simpple and holds aa good edge as well as being wasy to sharpen,
I hear ya. I've been using the same Schrade lockback folder for 3-1/2 decades, and have never found a reason for anything else. It holds an edge forever and that 3-1/2" blade is easy to handle around a carcass.
