Have you looked at an STI? Best bang for the buck, the quality and fit of STI's is outstanding and they are made by shooters for shooters. Sounds cheezy but is true. You can get a top shelf 1911 for less than 2K. IMHO, Les Baers triggers are a little too stiff - great guns, though.
