I was given a scope mount for my mod. 29 but I'm a little leary of it's ability to handle heavy loads with heavy bullets. Has anyone had any experience with the Bushnell "Centurion" scope base? This one was never installed but I believe it's fairly old.
My concern is that they use two fair size screws to hold them in place(10-32 ?), but have no recoil lug of any kind.
Other than that it looks like a good base & ring design.
They require two holes being drilled & tapped(my 29 is old enough to only have one hole, & this base does not use that one) & I hate to do that & then find out the mount has problems, because I doubt any other mounts use the same screw spacing.
I could use some suggestions. Money's tight but I don't want to mess up my gun with a junk mount.
