The GP 100 is a great gun for target shooting and personal protection. It's not capable of handling heavy handloads that the same caliber SBH can handle. The 44 mag IMO is a better way to start. You can load it down and get familiar with it then you can handload it up to the level of power capable of taking any game in the lower 48 and most of what is in Alaska comfortably. It sounds like money is a bit of an issue. If that is the case you would be better served starting with the 44. It will do just about any and everything you could think of. Sell the CZ912 purchase a SBH in 44 send it off for a trigger job and a scope base and put an ultra dot or some other red dot scope on it and enjoy a gun that will last 5 lifetimes if taken care of.
