Friday, last week, I went to the range to do a little testing of some loads for my XP-100 7 SAUM.

Previously, this particular load had shot 3 shots into .56" or so at 100 meters.

This trip, I wanted to see if I could tighten up the group by changing the seating depth. To that end, I loaded the same load as before, with the seating depth the same as before as well as incrementally stepping the seating depth back by ~0.006" or so.

This trip, I would be shooting 200 yards.

The same load that previously shot ~1/2 MOA at 100 meters also shot ~1/2 MOA at 200 yards. Group size was 3 shots into .986" or so.

Then this happened:

BINGO! Just as I suspected, I was able to tighten up the grouping.

I loaded up another batch of ammo. Next range trip, I hope to confirm the grouping, and with some minor scope adjustments be "on target" at 200 yards.

I've been pretty happy with my Jon Beanland built XP-100.
