Took this 10pt Indiana buck on Sunday at 1:45pm as he appeared from the creek bottom walking right to my stand. At a very long distance of 25 yards he stopped to nibble on some green brows. I actually had to turn the scope down from 4x to 2.5x for a better field of view. I put the cross hairs right on his shoulder and let the SSK 50 B&M Alaskan roar. The Hornady 350gr XTP flipped him over backwards and slammed him to the ground DRT! He dressed at 165#.
Post mortem would show a ? inch (.500) entry into the hide, upon removing the hide a 3 inch hole in the ribs and through the right lung. The XTP clipped the top of the heart with a 1 inch exit lower left side.
The barrel is a SSK 14? Encore chambered in 50 B&M Alaskan with a 60 caliber muzzle brake, sported by the Tsob and Leupold 2.5x8 power scope. After lots of range work late summer and into the fall I chose the Hornady 350 XTP @ 1950fs. This setup is a handful of fun and now a proven ?Critter - Getter?.

Safe hunting to all
