I don't shy away from single-action revolvers for backup duty. Yeah, they are harder to manipulate one handed than a DA revolver, but I don't think it's a deal breaker. I think it boils down to preference. All of the SRHs I have owned have been accurate revolvers. My .480 Bisley is also very accurate, but it's much more pleasurable to carry in stock form. Cut and SRH's barrel back to 5-inches and it becomes pretty packable. Six of one, half a dozen of another...
