The problem with the .357 is - how do I put this delicately- that it's so, well, small.....
As a poor farm boy growing up I killed everything with a single shot .22 Winchester 67. The .357 still seems like it has too much power. I did have a Contender with a .256 Win. barrel and a .44 mag. barrel but never hunted with the .44. I still prefer the .22 for most things.
