It definitely gave me a lot to think about. It will become a reference book for me I'm sure. Red dots are a great alternative to open iron sites as they don't magnify. While relatively long shots can be taken with a red dot, I personally like the up close and personal aspect of handgun hunting and the red dot helps particularly as the eyes get older. Plus, they are great in low light!
