In Idaho any center fire is legal which is a silly & outdated law. That makes a 25 ACP legal for elk & moose!
Tennessee has the same cartridge restrictions (or lack thereof), but I don't find it silly. True, you could hunt deer with a 25 ACP or 17 Hornet and be well within the law, but the game department has enough faith in us sportsmen to use a proper round for the job.
