Cashed in on an opportunity Saturday morning. Nice eating size doe. First use of a 12 inch contender with a Mike Bellm .35/30-30 modification. Used the 180 gr. XTP. Pass thru from about 45 yards with deer quartered to me. I wanted to wait but she was getting downwind. Appeared to have decent expansion and took out top of the heart and both lungs. Bullet appeared to come out of the ribs and travel under the skin for a short distance before exiting. Missed bone coming and going but was effective within 30 yards. Picture coming soon.
