PsTaN you are correct. I am a big fan of rimmed cases in break actions. The only non rimmed barrel I have is the 260 Remington BullBerry barrel. I have two 357 Maximum's, a 6mm BullBerry Improved, a 6.5 X 30 JDJ, and a 35 BullBerry.

In a bolt action the 7.62 X 53R/54R will max out pretty much with the 30-06. In the Encore the Carrot Shaped Case will probably keep the velocity pretty much at the 308 Winchester level. I will need to work with loads a little more to be sure of this theory however. My initial loads looked like it will start getting sticky at around 2900 fps with the 125 BT. I will need more load development to be sure of this.
Doing 308 Encore Velocity is nothing to complain about. And she drives tacks. The Four Gill Muzzle Brake works very well. It works so well that I will probably have a couple more installed on Contender barrels.
