All bullets made from alloy are lighter than pure lead because of the density differences. A lead bullet will be shorter because it is heavier. A mono-metal bullet must be longer to weigh the same. If it is too long, it must be made shorter, even though it weighs less. That is just the reality of give-and-take that goes on when attributes are exchanged for what is actually able to be accomplished.
