I suggest spreading the rings out as much as you can to support the scope and for heavy recoil guns use 3 rings or 4 if you have room. I like 2 in front with the scope turret seating against the 2nd ring preventing the scope from drifting forward as the gun recoils. Clean all mating surfaces of scope and inner rings with alcohol to remove any oil trace.
