I use scopes on everything that will be shot past 50 yds. I can still see deer thru a pistol scope long after it is to dark for my red dot sight even at 50 yds. A 150 yd shot is a long poke with a 44 ,even in good light,with a GOOD rest, for an experienced shooter, in the woods with poor light, no way for me even with a scope. My fixed scopes start at 4x but I prefer variables.
