So, I guess this might be called a partial bust. Took the gun to the range and the first shot was 2" high at 25 yards. The second shot was a miss. In the midst of unloading the gun to check it out, the rear mount (the one which screws into the 6-48 hole that the open sight screws into) had stripped out and the scope was just flopping around. Looking at the amount of purchase that screw has in the hole, it seems that it is only a few threads into the hole. Maybe a longer screw might cure the issue. I have re-tapped the hole to at least provide some more thread baring surface but don't want to drill it out and tap it for a bigger hole just yet. I know the 6-48 screws are hard to find but Brownells has some that are longer so I have them on order. Dad used to say "3 threads will hold the world" so I must have only engaged 2 LOL Will update if just for my own edification.
